A Diagnostic Study and Preparation of a Strategic Plan for Botswana International Financial Services Centre

Expressions of Interest are invited from suitably qualified consultants for the above mentioned assignment which is sponsored by Botswana International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

Botswana IFSC is an agency of the Government of Botswana established “through its development planning process’’ to contribute to the “need to broaden the country’s economic base, with the objective of reducing dependence on the traditional engines of growth.”

The scope of the services to be provided include: a) a diagnostic study of the Business Process Outsourcing Industry inclusive of back office process outsourcing and call centres b) identification of policy, regulatory, legislative and infrastructural reforms required to enhance private sector participation in the development of the industry c) preparation of a strategic plan for the Botswana IFSC based on the proposed reforms. The assignment is expected to take about three months.

Botswana IFSC invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing the above services. Interested firms or consortia (with proof of registration) should submit a statement of up-to five pages to support their application, together with other relevant documentation. The EOIs should contain at least the following information: a) the firm’s or consortium’s specific and relevant experience through a brief description of relevant projects/consultancies undertaken in the last three to five years, and b) qualifications, competencies and experience of personnel who would be available for the assignment. Association with competent local firms will be an added advantage. Submissions of EOI should be made to the address below by 16:00 hours local time on Thursday 11th December 2003, and should be clearly marked “EOI ON BPO / CALL CENTRE STUDY”.

Short-listed firms will be invited to bid for the assignment.
